Worship House Media

www.worshiphousemedia.com

Worship House media provides video clips, video loops, images, movies, etc. Rather pricey, but the quality is good on most (make sure you preview clips before you buy). They do offer free downloads frequently, so it's worth checking back every so often to get those.

Ministry & Media

www.ministryandmedia.com

EXCELLENT site for movie/TV clips for illustration & teaching purposes. Major hurdle is that it is subscription based site. If you can afford it, I recommend it.

Zondervan - About Bible Translations

http://www.zondervan.com/Cultures/en-US/Product/Bible/Translations/About+Bible+Translations.htm?QueryStringSite=Zondervan

Zondervan has an excellent section that explains the differences in Bible translations - why there are different ones, the translation philosophy behind each, statistics about each, and comparisons.

After reading the main article from the above link, you can click on "Translation Comparison" to see the various translations. From that new page you can click on individual translations to get history/statistics for each.

This is really an interesting site, especially when you consider the "readability" level of each translation. Recommended!

A New English Translation of the Septuagint

ccat.sas.upenn.edu/nets/edition/

Download the entire Septuagint book-by-book. Each books is downloaded as a PDF, so there is no search capabilities in the text, but it's still a valuable resource.

The Brick Testament

www.thebricktestament.com/

The use of Legos to tell the story of the Bible. MANY different passages are shown. Would be good visuals for teaching children. Also just good for a laugh.

Greek and Hebrew Paradigms Quiz

quiz.emergence.dk/

This is THE site to go to to study Greek/Hebrew Paradigms. Choose your language, choose your quiz, drill & get smarter. The fact that you can drill on specific paradigms is its greatest asset.

Ancient Greek Tutorials

socrates.berkeley.edu/~ancgreek/ancient_greek_start.html

GREAT site for on-line study of Greek vocab. Simply pick your option on the left, set your parameters, and run the drill. Recommended.

Heaven Dwellers

www.heavendwellers.com/default.htm

If you still carry your KJV around and think all of these modern preachers are soft, you have posters of Billy Sunday on your wall - then this site may interest you. :o)

I have it bookmarked because you can get the complete text of A. W. Tozer's Knowledge of the Holy and The Pursuit of God. Beyond those two resources I don't know much about the site.

7 Basic Steps to Successful Fasting and Prayer

www.ccci.org/growth/growing-closer-to-god/7-steps-to-fasting-and-prayer/index.aspx

Article by Bill Bright explaining both the mandate to fast and the means to successful participate in one. Great article, highly recommend.

Desiring God - Resource Library

www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/

On-line resource library for the works/ministry of John Piper. For free you can download sermons, whole books, articles, etc. It's pretty stocked.

Teknia

www.teknia.com

This is THE place to go for languages, specifically NT Greek. The land of Daniel Mounce. Tons of useful resources, whether you want to learn Greek or want to continue in your study of it. Some things to purchase, but many are free. Flashworks is one of the best Flashcard programs out there. The resource pages for Basics of Bible Greek and Basics of Biblical Hebrew are also invaluable.

NT Gateway

www.ntgateway.com

I just recently found this site, so I'm not completely familiar with it yet. It has resources available for pretty much every aspect of NT studies: on each book, backgrounds, text criticism, etc. Some of the sites that I've gone to from it are broken, but others work fine and are useful.

From the site: "Welcome to The New Testament Gateway, the award winning web directory of internet resources on the New Testament. Browse or search annotated links on everything connected with the academic study of the New Testament and Christian Origins. This major upgrade of the site improves navigation and introduces lots of new features. For all the latest information on the site, please visit the NT Gateway blog."

All-in-One Biblical Resources Search

www.duke.edu/~goodacre/multibib/

Incredibly thorough search platform site. Has the following categories (linked):

Bible Versions and Translations

Greek New Testament

Biblical Resource Sites

Ancient World

General Academic and Religion

Email List Archives

Pretty simple site, but lots of options.

Cities of Revelation

www.luthersem.edu/ckoester/Revelation/main.htm

Good site for an overview of the 7 churches of Revelation. The information is brief, but decent. The biggest annoyance in the site is that the navigation tools are very confusing. You click on a topic on the left, but then the "back/next" buttons are in the upper righthand corner - which is awkward.

Olive Tree Bible Software

www.olivetree.com

Best site to download software for your phone/PDA, though there is a cost for most everything.

PDA Scholar

www.pdascholar.com

Language software for Windows Mobile & Palm platforms - excellent flashcard programs for learning Greek & Hebrew vocab. The big letdown is that the software hasn't been updated in over a year. Just the same - worth getting.

E-Sword

www.e-sword.net

If you are unable to afford Logos, here is your next best bet. For free, it's worth the download just to have the search/study capabilities.

From the site: "e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package. The fact that e-Sword is free is just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the software. I make my living writing software and I believe I have put forth my best effort in this endeavor. The real work, however, was put in by the godly men and women who devoted countless years creating the texts that have been made available for our benefit."
